How do I know how long my visit should be?Length of visits can be estimated based on what you would like to be seen for. Examples are below to give you an idea, and we’re happy to assist you via phone in booking the appropriate amount of time for your appointment. If you have one small problem, such as a spot on your back that you are worried about, book 10 minutes. This will allow us time to remove or biopsy it if needed, but we may be done in 5 if no treatment is needed. If you have mild acne – book 15 minutes. If you have moderate to severe acne – book 20 minutes. If you have moderate to severe psoriasis or a severe rash – book at least 25-30 minutes. We are happy to spend up to an hour with patients at a time to help tackle difficult problems. If you would like a full skin examination to check for skin cancer – book 20 minutes (We suggest you book additional time if you have other issues you might like taken care of at the same visit)
-
Will insurance still cover my medications, laboratories, or pathology fees?"Yes, your insurance plan should still cover these. However, please feel free to inquire about special rates we have negotiated for medications, labs, and pathology services to help uninsured patients or those who have high deductibles. Often times our costs are far less than what you will pay otherwise.
-
Can I be reimbursed by my insurance company for my visit?Insurance companies MAY reimburse you for your visit if they would have covered the visit at a participating in-network office. It is possible to be reimbursed, unless you have Medicare, Medicaid or Tricare. If you would like to file for reimbursement you will need a special coded receipt from us that contains the appropriate codes and modifiers. We provide these for $5 to help cover the preparation resources and time. We suggest contacting your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you prior to paying for the coded receipt. If they say yes, please note we are considered an out-of-network provider.
-
Can I use my health savings account or flex account?Yes, you may use HSAs and flex accounts at our office. You may need a coded receipt to prove the service was valid medical care. Please contact us if you need a coded receipt and we will prepare one for $5.
